The autonomy of the architectural object

The autonomy of the architectural object is a highly modern instance of building architecture and of resolving the newly appeared pathologies within the city, such as the agoraphobia. The idea behind extracting the architectural object from a built tissue was the way this way of building offered the spectators of the architecture panoramic perspectives around the artifact itself. That gave anyone the access to truly see the elevation, the windows, the access etc, turning the architectural edifice into a dramatic object, a city within a city that embodied fragments that served as an island that occupied the city. It was regarded rather as a distopia than a utopia, a necropolis rather than a metropolis.
