Modular dimensions vs nominal dimensions
Modular dimensions are the dimensions that are used in design, taking into consideration the layout of the bricks together with the mortar. However, the nominal dimensions are the ones found on market, those being usually smaller than the ones architects consider in design. For example, the height of a regular brick is 25 cm as a modular dimension, but 240 mm as a nominal dimension.
