Modular design and its advantages

Modular design is the design that is created and thought by making use of a module. A module is a unity that is based on the standardized dimensions of the building products. The modular design is based on a modular grid that is followed in every step of the design process, the end result having standard dimensions. The first ever used module was the brick. The internationally recongnized module is M=10cm, and of course it also has supramodules, such as 3M, 6M, 12M, 30M and 60M.
