Les cites napoleon iii in the haussmanian paris
Les Cites Napoleon III was a lesser-known consequence of the regulation of Georges-Eugene Haussman in the 19th century Paris. It consisted of social housing built outside Paris and it became popular for the poor and the workers because it offered decent living conditions for the disadvantaged families. They were called ‘workers citadels’ and they offered a comfortable living environment for families who used to share one single room in the middle of the city. Les Cites Napoleon III had 200 houses organized around a central courtyard.
