Gothic follies in landscape architecture
Gothic follies are the small buildings or building fragments that were built by Architects in the Augustan age in order to enhance the appearance of public or private pleasure gardens and to give a man-made feel to the scene. The buildings had no actual function, they were just means of decoration employing the Gothic stylistic devices previously used accordingly to their functions, in an inappropiate manner.
